Use that USB flash drive for more than storing pictures and music. Now you can carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more with you. Use them on any Windows computer. All without leaving any personal data behind.

PortableApps.com provides a truly open platform that works with any hardware you like (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc). It's open source built around an open format that any hardware vendor or software developer can use.

Thanks to shelbygt for mentioning this in IRC.

To top it all off, it's skinnable! PortableApps

Have known about it for sometime but, finally put it to use two weeks ago. Very slick.

I don't know what you are referring to when you say skinnable but, the menu isn't aside from the icons.

Somewhere I saw that the menu may have been done in DesktopX; so, consider this my open offer to the author to either make it skinnable or help him/her.
Edit: Okay, I see it's in the beta

Can you install your own apps or do you have to use the apps they provide? In other words can I install PSP or PhotoShop?(I know the have Gimp I don't like it)

The apps need to be designed for portability in order to be used. In this case PSP or PhotoShop are not portable.  There are other portable apps out there that will run from within this program.

I have a U3 2gb stick that I formatted and put the portable apps program on. I also skinned it to my taste. I think its great, and unlike U3, all the software is free....

To answer the photoshop question the main focus is an open source software in order for the apps to be packed/tweaked if needed.

You can add any portable apps to it. I put in Opera's usb version and a number of custom gadgets.
