Use that USB flash drive for more than storing pictures and music. Now you can carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more with you. Use them on any Windows computer. All without leaving any personal data behind.

PortableApps.com provides a truly open platform that works with any hardware you like (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc). It's open source built around an open format that any hardware vendor or software developer can use.

Thanks to shelbygt for mentioning this in IRC.

To top it all off, it's skinnable! PortableApps

many App markers are now offering portable versions...as it becomes more popular.. i expect more t follow suit... even OBJD would be great as it would be nice to run WB from a thumb..

While I realize there are quite a few U3-haters out there, some of us find the U3 interface useful. For those who do, the Xtraveller software (found here) is an easy way to run PortableApps from a U3-enabled drive.
on Dec 03, 2007
I agree with warreni, my 2gb stick came with U3, I find it useful (has some nice free apps and features).

However, I installed PortableApps a long time ago, and I love it. It has many nice free programs and a nice interface.

Along with Xtraveller as mentioned by warreni above, PStart is another free non-U3 apps launcher that will launch PortableApps for you (on U3 enabled drives), I use them both. I have noticed that Xtraveller will autolaunch PortableApps when you launch Xtraveller, I have not been able to do that with PStart. You can find PStart here:

Some of you might find MojoPac an interesting option. You can find it here:

No problem Z. I'm not using the 2gig. PM me with an address and I'll stick it in an envelope.

I know exactly what to do with that memory stick. And yes, it will fit...
on Dec 03, 2007
This really bothers me. All the sticks I find lying around don't seem to have any memory. I'd throw them and the dog would have to bring it back, some memory!
on Dec 04, 2007
I hear that in Australia there's a stick that you can throw as hard as you can and it remembers where you were and comes back to you. Now that's a memory stick!
